Património que acolhe os livros: teorias de restauro aplicadas em bibliotecas municipais

Abstract

O conceito clássico de património refere-se, a um conjunto de bens deixados de uma geração passada. Esta herança define uma cultura e um lugar enquanto património arquitectónico. É nesta sequência, que existe um interesse de restaurar e reutilizar os monumentos e edifícios históricos. A Biblioteca Municipal é um equipamento que garante um desenvolvimento cultural e do “saber”, e assim promove educação e conhecimento ao ser humano. Pela riqueza das suas funções, torna-se um programa conveniente para ocupar o nosso património arquitectónico. Nesta lógica, é pertinente aprofundar o conhecimento das diferentes formas de intervir nos monumentos e edifícios históricos. Para isso se recorre ao conhecimento das Cartas de Atenas e Veneza. Bem como às teorias de Viollet-le-Duc, Ruskin, Riegl e Brandi. Por fim, se procede a uma análise crítica, em que se verifica a presença das diferentes teorias com os casos de estudos. Em que estes são as Bibliotecas Municipais de Amarante, Tavira e Ílhavo.

The classical concept of property refers to a set of assets left by a previous generation. This heritage defines a culture and a place as architectural heritage. It is in this sequence that comes the desire to restore and reuse the monuments and historic buildings. The Municipal Library is a device that guarantees cultural development and the “knowledge” and thus promotes education and knowledge to humans. The richness of its functions, it becomes a convenient program to occupy our architectural heritage. This logic becomes concerning what the best way to intervene in the monuments and historic buildings. For that it appealed to the knowledge of Athens and Venice Letters. As well as the theories of Viollet-le-Duc, Ruskin, Riegl and Brandi. Finally, it proceeds to a critical analysis, which confirms the presence of the different theories in the case of studies. That these are the Municipal Libraries Amarante, Tavira and Ílhavo.
